my mom fuckin cranked Tears for Fears, Sade, Sting and the shitty 80's Eric Clapton catalog for years on vacation trips.

hahaha - I hate pretty much all Clapton. My parents were born in the 40's so I'm guessing it was just their era. In looking for a picture of 80's Eric Clapton I found this real album cover:

Is there a worse name for this?

BTW - Thanks to this thread I have a song stuck in my head for the day (I've already quoted it twice in phone conversations).

My palate cleaning earworm:

Usually takes one listen to trump anything else I've got rattling around, but I could listen to it all day. Bonus: best video ever?

Dam, some good fucking tunes in here.... I was previously unfamiliar with Stagger Lee Ken, but glad you posted it. It made me do more research on the story of Stagger Lee & Billy, something I should've done a long time ago as a fan of Wrong Em Boyo. Anyway, not sure if this is stuck in my head anymore, but:

Tears for Fears were, and still are (if you count their album from 2006 as current) great!

indirectly the fault of BIS Keith: his FB updates about a month or so ago with his 60's psych rock posts led me to this

I try my hardest to get into people's heads. Speaking of, if you need the link to the Del Shannon "psychedelic" album from 1967, just let me know! It really is good.

I completely agree- it that is indicative of what your parents were into that is pretty impressive taste.

my parent also were born in the 40's, and our long trips always has the old timey radio adventure story series type of show- until the walkman came on the scene and granted audio freedom of choice to a pre-teen me.

Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident.
