Honestly? Your parents are fucking awesome.

Yeah, of course the are!
Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn't mean that we too can't not die in a freak gasoline fight accident.

Man I was lucky. My house was filled with Reggae growing up. My dad was a Marley, Tosh, Steel Pulse and Burning Spear freak.
I was telling ken the other day, I remember distinctly dancing with my dad, whilst I stood on his toes to "Pimper's Paradise"

other music dad memories include my pops and I driving in the car to "Naive Melody" by the talking heads and him saying "I came home.... she lifted up her wings".

OR the best dad memory....

He would make me sing the line "ME AND DEL WERE SINGING"........................................

I guess I was also lucky when it comes to parents and music (my dad named me after Keith Moon). I know so much good music because of my parents, mostly my father, although my mother is the reason I know Love and the Incredible String Band, two of my favorite bands ever.

For the record, this post is relevant because now this song is stuck in my head!

I would put the Alkaline Trio in the list of "bands people have tried repeatedly to get me into that I just can't". Sorry, I'll try again.

I edited this post to say that that song is better than anything I've ever heard by them.

They remind me a ton of the Jawbreaker stuff I really like (which makes it pretty clear why you can't get into them).
The only record I can imagine being worth your trying again is:

I love them, but anything else in their catalog is all that older emo stuff (in style, not date) that you don't like (not that this isn't too, but the live acoustic thing has something to it that you could probably appreciate).
